The usually quiet Yarai Noh Theater will be "chattered" for just one day!
We'll introduce you to the normally unseen backstage, Noh masks,
and costumes, along with entertaining commentary. This special program allows you to experience the charm of Noh from multiple angles, including special talks with a variety of guests, a Shimai dance demonstration, and even costume dressing.

Performance Information

The charm of Noh that lies deep within its tranquility will be more casual and more enjoyable!
For one day only, the Yarai Noh Theater will be "chatty," showcasing behind-the-scenes scenes that are normally off-limits, as well as the beauty of Noh masks and costumes, all accompanied by entertaining commentary.
Hosted by rakugo performer San'yutei Yukari, the special program will feature a special talk with guests including Noh performer Kanze Yoshimasa, a performance of the Shimai dance, and even costume dressing, allowing you to experience the elegant world of Noh from multiple angles! Whether
you're a first-timer or a lover, we hope you enjoy this opportunity to discover a new side of Noh.

Performers

Kanze Yoshimasa: Talk guest, Shimai, costume dressing explanation

Born in 1970, Kanze School Shite actor
. Eldest son of Kanze Yoshiyuki III. Studied under his father.
In addition to performing in Japan and overseas, he is also involved in numerous teaching, planning and productions.
Part-time lecturer at Hosei University Graduate School and Kokugakuin University
lecturer at ITI Singapore School of Drama,
Chairman of the Kanze Kukokai Public Interest Incorporated Association, Managing Director of
the Nohgaku Association Public Interest Incorporated Association,
and holder of the comprehensive designation of Important Intangible Cultural Property.

Tamiko Tamura: Talk guest

He is the director of the "Traditional Performing Arts Tool Lab."
He has been interviewing the backstage workers and tool makers of traditional performing arts such as Noh, Kabuki, and Bunraku for many years.
He also visits the production sites of Noh costumes and Noh fans.
Since 2009, he has been supporting the search for tool makers.

Sanyutei Yukari: Host

After dropping out of Tamagawa University's Faculty of Letters, Department of Arts, majoring in Theater, he worked in a variety of workplaces.
After working for 10 years at a sake bar and a sake wholesaler
, he discovered rakugo in 2011 and became a disciple of master San'yutei Yujaku in June 2012.
In July 2016, he was promoted to futatsume (second-class performer).
In September 2021, he received the Hoku-Topia Encouragement Award at the 32nd Hoku-Topia Young Rakugo Artists Competition.
